Stephen J. Molloy

Stephen J. Molloy, 93, of Quaker Hill, entered eternal life on Friday, May 27, 2016, at home in the company of his family.

He was born July 23, 1922, in New York City, N.Y., the son of the late Patrick and Catherine (Lappin) Molloy. Mr. Molloy was a retired Naval officer serving over 30 years in Medical Corps. In addition, he was a professor for over five years. He was united in marriage to Angela (Virga-Wattson) Molloy, on May 17, 2007, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. He was a communicant of the church, the Secular Franciscan (SFO).

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Kathryn Caruana, Maureen DeLauro (Oakdale) and Elizabeth Murdock; his stepchildren, David Watson and Carol Waterman; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Gloria (Giglio) Molloy; sister, Rita Jung; and a stepdaughter, Roseann McCorkle.

His family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Our Lady of the Perpetual Help Church, 63 Old Norwich Road, Quaker Hill. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.
