Bob was born May 23, 1961 in New London, CT. He was the son of the late Stanley and Patricia McKinney. Bob married his best friend and soul mate Jo-Lynn Nott, on August 14, 1982. You could find Bob sitting in his recliner at night with Jo-Lynn sitting next to him enjoying the company of Boomer, Brandy and Lucy, the family dogs.

The real light of Bob’s life were his two son’s Bob and Chris, he was a very proud father. Bob was very involved in his son’s sports starting with minor league baseball at the age of 8, basketball, all the way up till 16-19 Babe Ruth baseball. Bob was well respected by not only his sons but all the players he coached. When Bob was done coaching you could see him sitting on his tailgate in the outfield watching his boys play softball.

Bob was an avid UConn, Yankees, and New York Giants fan, but his true love was perfecting his craft in the lawn care business, something his sons are planning to continue in his name. His sons are aware it’s hard to follow a perfectionist and someone who was the most hardworking man in their eyes, but they’ll do their best because they know that’s what he would want.

Even with his hobbies and his love of sports, Bob was first and foremost a family man, according to his family, a TRUE family man, who loved texting with his sons and helping anyone and everyone he could. Bob was extremely excited and looking forward to becoming a grandfather in August to his first grandchild who will carry his grandfather’s name, Jayce Robert William McKinney. Jayce will carry Bob as a guardian angel for his entire life. Although his family will only understand this, Bob also recently became a horse whisperer as he enjoyed watching his niece, Madison ride her horses.

Bob will be missed and is loved by many, but he will live on in his wife, sons, grandchild and all his family.
