Waterford – Patrick Edward Santacroce of Waterford, passed away peacefully March 24, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 24. 1927, in New London, to the late Frank and Wilhemena (Neff) Santacroce. He was united in marriage to the former Rita Marie Santacroce, who predeceased him July 30, 2002.

Patrick worked for the City of New London for 27 years and retired in 1989. Patrick was an accomplished artist and participated in many juried art shows in New London County. Patrick was a collector of Gene Autry music and memorabilia. He loved opera and classical music. He held a season pass at the Garde Arts Theater and attended many operas over the years. Patrick loved his family and enjoyed spending his days with them. He always had a huge smile on his face and in his heart. Patrick loved all animals, especially cats.

Mr. Santacroce is survived by his two children and their spouses: Alan and Kathy Santacroe of Oakdale and Lisa Santacroce-Turpin and Wendall of Waterford; a sister, Louise Mencarelli of Ledyard; four grandchildren: Kayla and Sophia Turpin, Holly (John) Goggin and Kristine Masis; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson, Colin Patrick Turpin; and a granddaughter, Katerina Mairead Turpin; a sister, Frances Brooks; and a brother, Robert Santacroce.

The family would like to thank Bayview Healthcare, Athena Hospice, Northeast Medical Group, Yale Urology, Kindred at Home and Lourdes Riviere for their support and fabulous care of Patrick.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 169 Old Colchester Road, Quaker Hill, CT 06375. The funeral home services will be private with a public graveside service at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, at Jordan Cemetery, Waterford. The Impellitteri-Mali Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Avenue, New London, has been entrusted with his care.
