MINTON: Joseph “Joey” Minton, 33, of New London entered eternal life on April 5, 2022. He was born March 26, 1989 in Charleston, SC, the beloved son of Lee Minton of Florida and the late Mary (Passero) Minton. Joseph grew up in New London, graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School, and served as an altar boy. He later graduated from St. Bernard High School Class of 2007, where he lettered in varsity football. He earned the Eagle Scout award while a member of Troop 11 and additionally he played Little League baseball for the former New London National League at Mitchell Woods. He graduated Salutatorian with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics from Mitchell College in 2017. At the time of his death Joseph was employed at Big Lots. Prior to that he worked for many years at Stonington Institute. In addition to his father, he is survived by two sisters, Emily Lowe and her husband Marc of Texas, Leah Minton and her fiancé Jacob Cron of Ohio as well as his beloved nieces, Lila and Ariana Lowe. Aunts; Sharon Passero Spivack, Deirdre Passero Ahern and her husband John and Kim Deetsch. Uncles; Michael Passero and his wife Mary, Kevin Passero, George Grabel, Melver Minton and his wife Jane. He is predeceased by his aunt and Godmother Joyce Anne Passero Grabel. Joey will be remembered by his many cousins in Connecticut, Kentucky, North Carolina, Alaska, and Israel. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 5 to 8 pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave, New London. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, at 1:30 pm in St. Joseph Church, New London. Interment with his beloved mother Mary, will be in private at Jordan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to ST. Joseph School.
