ADRIAN: John F. Adrian, 83 of Norwich, passed away Feb. 13, 2016. John was born in Syracuse, NY one of 6 children to the late Frederick and Celine (Hisington) Adrian. John joined the U.S. Navy at a young age and went on to work for many years as an Operating Engineer Local 478. He retired many times but last worked as a bus/limo driver for Mohegan Sun. He also spent many hours on the ocean as a Captain working for the Sunbeam Fleet with the Wadsworth family who became a very big part of his life. As a avid pool player he was a member of the American Pool Association. He will be missed terribly by his three daughters Sherrie Glover of FL, Karen Adrian and her fiance Jeff Lynds of Columbia and Nancy Adrian (Scott Cook) of Oakdale, 3 stepsons Ron, Tim and Ken McGory, two brothers Bill and Frederick, two sisters Betty and Rhoda, three granddaughters Ashley LaBarge of Fl, Sydney and Peyton Cook of Oakdale, 3 great grandchildren and a very large extended family. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth, a sister Freda and a stepson Larry. A memorial gathering to celebrate John’s life, will be held on Saturday Feb 27, 2016 at 2pm at the Yantic River Inn, 270 West Town St. Norwich.
