CARVER: Jacqueline “Jackie” Gail Carver, of Bozrah, was a thoughtful wife, mother, and grandmother who passed away on Jan. 3, 2022 at the age of 81 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. She was born on April 5, 1940 to Harold and Mildred (Day) Blanchard. Jackie grew up in Fitchville, CT and attended Fields Memorial School and the Norwich free Academy before graduating from Hartford Hospital School of Nursing. Jackie lived in Bozrah for the remainder of her life with her husband Larry G. Carver who survives her after 60 years of marriage. Together, they had three children: Michael (Nic John) of Philadelphia, Roger (Deborah) of Norwich and Karen (Timothy) Murphy of Waterford. Jackie worked as a register nurse for 30 years but her passion was supporting the interests of her children and later her three grandchildren: Carver Murphy, Eleanor “Ellie” Carver and Tucker Murphy. There was not a sporting event, recital, or celebration that Jackie would miss the opportunity to attend. Jackie also enjoyed an itinerary driven family vacation to ensure everyone saw all the sights whether it be Disney World, Hawaii, or southern California. Jackie started each morning with the newspaper working on the Jumble and Sudoku puzzles, rarely tackling one that she did not complete. An avid reader, she would often be found in the living room in “her chair” with her Kindle, a Dixie cup of Mountain Dew and some Pirate’s Booty before enjoying a PBS period drama or mystery. Jackie was a talented cross-stitcher, and we are left with, many of her accomplishments. She will always be remembered for her generosity, graphic tee shirts, and Christmas spirit. There will be a small celebration of life for immediate family members only. The family asks that in lieu of flower’s, donations be sent to St. Jude Children Research Hospital; www.St.Jude.org.
