PELTIER: Gary Charles Peltier, 82 of Waterford, entered eternal life on Sept. 6, 2022. He was born June 27, 1940 in New London, the son of the late Charles and Victorine (Marshall) Peltier. He attended local schools, graduating from New London High School; he enlisted in the Air National Guard of CT in 1958 and later transferred to the Army National Guard of CT. He was honorably discharged at the rank of SP4 in 1964. He married his childhood sweetheart and best friend the former Patricia “Pat’” Lovetere on June 24, 1961 in St. Joseph Church, Pat predeceased him in March of 2013. Mr. Peltier worked as an electrical designer, retiring after 40 years for Electric Boat. Gary was a former member at Shennecossett Golf Club, where he and Pat played together. He loved to work on his yard and was very particular about his lawn. He had a passion for music and started the band “Moonlighters” at 15 where he and his friends played for many local weddings and several clubs. He enjoyed flying remote control planes and was a member of Propbusters. He is survived by his four children; Glenn and Paula Peltier of Waterford, Todd and Dianne Peltier of Uncasville, Deborah Castagna of Norwich, Tammi and Patrick Donnellan of Quaker Hill. A sister Joyce Rahn of Waterford. Eleven grandchildren, Chelsea, Alyssa, Chad, Krista, Carley, Brooke, Mitchell, Evan, Olivia, Eva, Avery and a great grandson Troy. He also leaves behind his very special companion, Sharon Craft and her family. His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday morning from 9 am to 10:30 am at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Follow by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Joseph Church, New London. Interment in, St. Mary Cemetery, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
