Beverly Leighton Cutter born in Long Island, New York, February 20, 1930, died in Hospice care at Holy Cross Hospital on August 3rd, 2023. Beverly had a long and memorial life. At age seven she moved with her mother Helen Zaist Leighton and her father “Bert” Leighton to San Francisco, CA. Like Tony Bennett, her heart belonged in San Francisco. Beverly enjoyed traveling and seeing the world with her husband, Frank during his 20 years in the United States Air Force. After his retirement they settled in Florida.
Beverly was proud of her long and varied work history. She worked as an usher in a movie theatre and remembered seating Elizabeth Taylor and Nicky Hilton. She worked for a railroad, as a door-to-door salesperson getting people to join a bowling league, as a key punch operator, as a Supervisor at Bellsouth and ultimately retired from the Registrar’s office at Broward Community College. Throughout her life she gathered friends and maintained life-long friendships. She is survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved mother at St. Mary’s Cemetery in New London, Connecticut. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, August 11, 2023. The Impellitteri-Malia Funeral home, 84 Montauk ave., New London has been entrusted with her care.
