Anthony “Tony” Tudisca, 79, suddenly passed away Sunday afternoon in Waterford, CT. He was the son of Antonio and Rose (Scira) Tudisca of Tusa, Italy. He was the youngest of 10 children, raised in New London, CT. Tony was very much dedicated to his family, as well as an avid sports lover. His favorite sports teams were NY Yankees, NY Giants, and UConn Men and Women’s basketball. When Tony wasn’t engaged in watching sports, you could find him in the kitchen cooking up some delicious Italian dish. Tony had and was proud of his extensive baseball cap collection, which was constantly growing as he traveled the world. Tony’s favorite times were spent planning for and going on family vacations. He especially looked forward to surprising his family at Christmas with the next family trip. Tony had been an employee of Pfizers until his retirement and was the owner/operator of Travel Network in Niantic, CT. He was a life member of Jordan Fire House, and past president of the New London Lodge of Elks #360. Tony was an Army Veteran who served as medic specialist in Korea. Tony married Frances (Moretti) Tudisca in 1958, who survives him. Tony is also survived by his two children: Anthony Tudisca Jr. of Nevada, and Tammy Tudisca of Groton. His beautiful grandchildren, Jamie Dombrowski, and her fiancé, Charlie Chamochumbi, Brandon Dombrowski, Nicole Furman, and her husband, Timothy Furman Jr. His Great-Granddaughter: Haddie Anne Furman. His siblings: Santo Tudisca of Bozrah, Cristenzia Nye of Groton. His “like son”: Dave Dombrowski. Tony is predeceased by seven siblings: Charlie and Giovanni Tudisca, Marie Stubbs, Carmela Prue, Sandra Devlin, Rosalie Payne and Eleanor Searl-Bradford. He is also predeceased by his dog-son, Willie. The family would like to thank DaVita Dialysis staff of New London, CT for taking such good care of Tony over the past three years. His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave, New London.
