William M. Poirier

POIRIER: William “Bill” M. Poirier, 62 of Quaker Hill peacefully entered eternal life on Nov. 29, 2017 in the comfort of his loving family. He was born April 15, 1955 in New London the son of the late John and Alice (Riendeau) Poirier. Bill grew up in Montville and graduated from Montville High School. He and the former Pamela “Pam” Sylvester, were united in marriage, on Feb. 15, 1980 in St. Paul’s Church, Mrs. Poirier survives him. He worked at Electric Boat as Warehouseman, retiring after 37 years. Bill was a Little League coach for Waterford North and Girls Softball. He was an avid New England Patriots, Baltimore Orioles, and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed saltwater fishing with family and friends and kept his boat at the Niantic Bay Marina in Waterford. Besides his beloved wife Pam of 37 years, he is survived by two, children and their spouses. Nick and Courtney Poirier of Colchester, Lena and David Wright of Maine. Four grandchildren, Rylie, Baylee, Grace and Logan. Two siblings, John Poirier of NY and Nancy Manley of Norwich. His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 5 to 7 pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave. New London. A funeral home service will be held on Saturday at 10 am. and proceed to interment in St. Mary Cemetery, New London.
