BARLOW: William “Bill” Edward Barlow, Sr., 89 of Waterford entered eternal life on Oct. 25, 2022 at home in the comfort of his loving family. He was born Jan. 22, 1933 in Westerly, RI the son of the late Portus and Rose (Algiere) Barlow. Bill was raised in New London, graduating from the former Buckley High School. He enlisted in US Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was united in marriage, to the former Doris Daniels on Jan. 2, 1953 in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Mrs. Barlow survives him. Mr. Barlow worked for 35 years at Electric Boat, retiring as a planer in 1995. In earlier year’s he meet monthly with former Buckley grads known as the “Buckley Boy’s”. Besides his beloved wife Doris of nearly 69 years of devotion, he is survived by three sons: William (Diane) Barlow, Jr. of Montville, Scott and (Charity) Barlow of Waterford and Michael (Lucienne) Barlow of Groton Long Point. His seven grandchildren, Adam, Megan, Courtney, Avery, Chloe, Matthew, and Kelsey. Four great-grandchildren, Jameson, Meah, Nina and Morah. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Sharon Barlow-Jarvis, brothers Portus Barlow, Jr. and James Barlow, Sr. The Barlow family would like the thank nurse Dawn and care givers Jim, Rob and Kelly who took wonderful and special care of Bill during this time at home. His family will receive relative and friends on Friday from 5 to 7 pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 am in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 10 Huntington St. New London. Interment, with military honors in St. Mary Cemetery.
