Obituaries

She came to the U.S. in 1961, settling in Philadelphia and later moving to the New Haven area. She worked for a short time at St. Raphael Hospital where she met her future husband. She was united in marriage to Matthew Pisani, Sept. 5, 1970, in St. James Church in Stratford, Matthew survives her. They moved to Niantic to raise their family, she worked as a teacher’s aide and formerly operated a Day Care.

Besides her beloved husband, she is survived by two daughters and spouses, Sheila Antley and Anthony Santangelo of Waterford, Nicole and Rich McCollum of Niantic; three grandchildren, Ryan Antley, Hannah Arevalo and husband , and Cameron McCollum; her sister Anne Byrne of England. She was predeceased by three brother, Francis, Patrick and Andrew Harkin.

Her family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, followed by a prayer service at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to any animal rescue Fund.
