East Lyme – Susann Marie Papalia, 71, of East Lyme entered eternal life May 12, 2021, in the company of her loving family. She was born April 29, 1950, the daughter of the late Louis and Rosalie (Ricatta) Fantacci. She was united in marriage to Joseph Papalia Oct. 23, 1976, in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church.

She is survived, by her beloved husband of nearly 45 years, Joseph Papalia Sr.; her two children, Teresa Preziosi of Newtown, and Joseph Papalia Jr. of East Lyme; a sister, Linda Spencer of North Carolina; ten grandchildren, Cassandra Faye, Amanda Panasuk, Zachary, Nathan, Ayla and Lucas Preziosi, Joey, Natalie and Grace Papalia, and on the way. She was predeceased by her son, John Panasuk; and a sister, Rosalie Fantacci.

Her family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. The funeral will assemble at 10 a.m. Saturday, from the funeral home and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, New London. Interment to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London.
