Sol Tarazona, 19 of Quaker Hill, went to sleep with the Lord on Nov. 22, 2015. She was born in Lima, Peru, on Nov. 22, 1996. She is survived by her father, Mario Tarazona, who works at the Williams School: her mother, Maximillia Tio Berrospi, who works at the Multicultural Magnet School: her brother, Madvey Ardiles, sister-in-law Mitsuko Ishilrane: nieces, Sherlyn Hilary Mazuo of Lima, Peru: her sisters Iris and Ursula Tarazona, by her brother-in-law, Jobson Oliveira: and her sweetheart, John Adams and his mother, Vaso Williams and his brother, Achilles Adams. She will also be dearly missed by her canine brother, Marley. Sol came to live in the United States in 2004, where she attended the Winthrop School in New London. She went on to attend Bennie Dover and Clark Lane Middle Schools. She completed her studies at the Science and Technology Magnet High School of Southeastern Connecticut in 2015. In her early years of study in the U.S., she was awarded for academic excellence. She was an avid reader, reading whole volumes of works. Although Spanish was Sol’s first language, she quickly became proficient in English. She excelled at everything she did, especially complex science and mathematic classes. Although Sol was faced with many difficult challenges her senior year of high school, it did not impede her completion of all programs including highly advanced calculus, earning a cumulative 25+ college credits at the time of graduation. Sol played soccer, tennis, enjoyed kayaking, and walking. She maintained her physical activities throughout her illness. She demonstrated amazing resilience, courage, and spirit to the awe of all those who knew her. She was very generous to her loved ones, always buying tasteful gifts. Sol was extremely helpful, assisting with tasks such as haircuts, dog washing, video gaming, helping with computers, homework help, and brainstorming. She worked at the Williams School along with her father to save money for college. She gained acceptance into Holy Cross University of Worcester, Mass., and was awarded a scholarship for her academic excellence. She always thought of her parents and family members who also adored her. She respected people’s needs above her own. Her career field of choice was to become a physician which fir her intelligence, helpfulness, and other aspects of her personality. Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 25, at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 10 Huntington St., New London. Internment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London. In lieu of her passing, donations may be made to the Sol Tarazona Fund at Chelsea Groton Bank.
