Santa Mortoro

Santa A. Mortoro, 95, of Waterford, entered eternal life on July 18, 2016, at home in the company of loving friends.

She was born March 24, 1921, in Italy, the daughter of the late Rosa Montefiori. She came to the United States in 1948, with her beloved husband, Mario Mortoro. Mr. Mortoro died on Nov. 3, 1993.

Santa worked at Monsanto Co. in Deep River, retiring after many years of service. She later was employed part time for Intrim Health Care as a nurse’s aide.

Santa is survived by her dear friend, Rosa Sferrazza of Waterford.

Guests are asked to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Wednesday from St. Joseph Church, 17 Squire St., New London. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
