MATZDORFF: Rose E. Matzdorff, 97 of New London entered eternal life on June 21, 2018 at home in the comfort of her loving daughter. She was born March 12, 1921 in New London, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Paolina (Macione) DiMaggio. She attended local schools, a former member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, and a member of St. Joseph Parish. Rose worked at the former Hendel’s Belt Factory and later at Sonny’s Market in New London. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Matzdorff of New London. Two sisters, Grace O’Donnell and Josephine Maloney, both of Niantic. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Matzdorff, and two siblings; Patsy May and Nancy Sawicki. Family and friends are to, gather for a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11 am in St. Joseph Church. Interment to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London. The Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave. has been entrusted with her care.
