GUERETTE: Ronald L. Guerette, 76 of Quaker Hill and Florida, died peacefully on May 7, 2018 surrounded by his family, in Richmond, VA. He was born on Sept. 28, 1941 in Fall River, MA; the son of the late Clarence and Blanche (Berube) Guerette. Mr. Guerette was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, with tours in Nebraska, Taiwan, Italy, England, and North Dakota. Having proudly served his country for 20 years, he returned to his roots in New England and worked in security at Electric Boat for more than 10 years, where he was known as Sarge by his many friends. Mr. Guerette was a devoted family man and deeply committed to community service. He was a Life Member of the New London Lodge of Elk’s 360, serving twice as Exalted Ruler and spending countless hours organizing events including his favorite, French Night. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Quaker Hill. He is survived by his loving wife Rose (Jones) Guerette of FL. His two children: Michael D. Guerette and his wife, Suzanee, of NY and Michelle D. Guerette and her wife, Kerri, of MA. His four grandchildren: Rowan, Max, Colby, and Murphy Guerette. Two brothers: Bob and Herve Guerette and Herve’s wife, Sharon. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lorraine (Murphy) Guerette, who died on April 3, 1998. Rose’s children: Christine Medbery and her husband, Philip, of CT; Craig White of FL; and Dennis White and his wife, Melanie. Rose’s six grandchildren: Jessica White, Spencer and Cassandra Medbery, Jerry Cernak, Turner White, and Ryley White. Mr. Guerette’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 11 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm (including a Lodge of Sorrow at 6:00pm) at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London, CT. Family and friends are invited to gather for a Mass on Saturday, May 12 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 63 Old Norwich Rd., Quaker Hill; followed by military honors. Internment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River, MA will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mr. Guerette can be made to: New London Lodge of Elk’s Scholarship Fund, 81 Washington St. New London, CT 06320.
