CRUZ: Pura Cruz, 96 of New London, entered eternal life on Jan. 7, 2022 at home in the company of her loving family. She was born Dec. 10, 1925 in Puerto Rico the daughter of the late Pedro and Domitila (Cruz) Medina. Mrs. Cruz moved with her family to New London in 1967. She was married to the late Mercedes Cruz who passed on Aug. 29, 1994. Mrs. Cruz was a communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in New London. She is survived by her seven children, Carmen and husband Carlos Hernandez of New London, Maria and husband Ruben Vazquez of Waterford, Miguel and wife Edith Cruz of East Hartford, Ramon and wife Gaby Cruz, Samuel and wife Maria Cruz, David Cruz and Manuel Cruz all of New London. Seventeen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and four great -great grandchildren. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. A Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated on Thursday at 12 pm in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 10 Huntington St. New London. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery will be private.
