NEWMAN: Patricia Newman, 83 of Waterford entered eternal life on Oct. 30, 2017 in the comfort of her loving family after a 5 year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born March 18, 1934 in New London, the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Green) Dayton. She attended local schools and graduated from the former Chapman Technical High School. She was united, in marriage to Robert B. Newman on September 10, 1955. Mr. Newman died May 18, 2006. Mrs. Newman worked for many years as a bank teller, working last at the former Fleet Bank. Prior to that she was employed at Sheffield Tube in New London. She is survived by her four children; Lori Sandrew and her husband Barry of Encinitas California, Linda Newman of Valley Center, California, Lisa Newman and her partner in life, Kevin Blackburn of Waterford and Bruce Newman of Nevada. She is also survived by her brother Edward Dayton of Waterford, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by five siblings; Donald, Raymond, Jr., and George Dayton, Eleanor Alfiero and Dorothy Frye. A celebration of life will be held on December 9^th at noon at Filomena’s Italian Kitchen, 262 Boston Post Road, Waterford, Connecticut.  Funeral service and interment are private. The Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London has been entrusted with her care.   In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
