Patricia “Pat” V. San Juan, of Waterford, passed away in her own “entertaining way” on November 4, 2015 in the comfort of her family by her side. Pat, the daughter of the late Michael and Ellen Sullivan Vendetto, was born on May 28, 1940 in New London. She was a 1955 graduate of New London High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Joseph San Juan on September 29, 1962 and enjoyed 50 years of marriage prior to Joe’s passing in 2012. Pat was employed in secretarial positions by the Town of Waterford over several years and will be most remembered as Great Neck School’s secretary and surrogate mother. Pat was a great organizer. Name a need or cause and she worked on it. Her true gift was her ability to bring family and friends together. As her children noted “Mom loved to volunteer herself through others.” She is deeply mourned and survived by her children and their spouses. Barbara and Kevin Karlson of Cumberland, Rhode Island, Deana and Joseph Nott of Waterford and Joseph Jr. and Angela San Juan of Waterford; Eight grandchildren, Christopher and Katie Karlson, Kassandra and Danielle Lankerd, Madison and Joey Nott of Waterford, Jessica and Samantha San Juan of Waterford. She is also survived by her broither Wayne Vendetto, Sr. of New London, Phyllis and Bill Bartelli of Waterford, Maureen and Bill Thompson, Joan and Jeff Laycock of Florida and Donna Vendetto of New London. Pat was predeceased by her husband Joe, her infant daughter Lisa, her infant grandsons Kyle and Corey Karlson and her brothers Robert and Michael Vendetto. Pat is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Her family will receive relatives and friends from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. Friday at Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave. New London. There will be a mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, Montauk Ave, New London. Beginning at 10 A.M. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation. As friends noted, it will be hard to remember Pat without her infectious smile, her thumbs up signal and “Life is Wonderful” slogan.
