Michael Craig DiMella, 60 of Waterford CT entered eternal life unexpectedly on Saturday July 13, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Michael was born in New London on December 3, 1958 to Leo Rocco DiMella and Ruth Craig DiMella. He attended Stonington High school and was an avid soccer player. Michael was employed at Arwood as a machinist for many years, and considered many of his coworkers his family. Whoever knew Michael, knew of his larger than life personality-his bushy mustache, his bright smile that could light up the room, and his love for his big Italian family. He had many passions in his life-none bigger than his love for sports (mainly the Boston Red Sox), for fishing and his number one priority in his life-his family.

Michael is pre-deceased by his Father Leo Rocco DiMella. Michael is survived by his wife Rebecca DiMella, her daughter’s Jesyka and Jenyfer Clark and their children Elias, and Maya. He is also survived by his mother Ruth Craig DiMella, and his two sisters who he loved deeply, Sherry Hanks, and Marybeth Dimella, as well as his two children Jessica Vamvakides, and Joseph DiMella, and his grandchildren Gianna Vamvakides and Dominic DiMella. He also deeply loved his nieces and nephews-Stephanie and Ryder Campbell, Alison Kmetz, Elise and Jonathan Hanks.

A memorial service for Michael DiMella will be held: August 17th 2019 at the Waterford VFW from 1pm. Until 4pm.
