NEILSEN: Leonarda Neilsen, 90 of New London entered eternal life on Dec. 3, 2023. She was born Jan. 8, 1933 in Bronx, New York the daughter of the late Salvatore and Michelina (Caronna) Romano. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry Neilsen who died Sept. 25, 1974. Mrs. Neilsen worked as a payroll clerk for Brooks Brothers in New York. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish and a devote Roman Catholic. She is survived by nephews and a niece; Michael and Walter Kokoszka, Dr. Albert Romano and Joan DelGuercio. Seven great nieces and nephews; Joseph, Marissa and Gabriella Romano, Edward Kokoszka, Jr., Catherine Dyson, Elizabeth Robbins, Danielle and Gionva DelGuercio. She was predeceased by her beloved son Michael Neilson in 1979. Two siblings; Albert Romano and Frances Kokoszka. A nephew Edward Kokoszka, Sr. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday morning from 8:30am to 9:30 am at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Joseph Church, New London. Interment to follow in, St. Mary Cemetery.
