Waterford – Kristin Corcoran Bender, age 59, passed away of complications due to ALS on March 20, 2022, at Lawrence +Memorial Hospital. Her loving husband Rob Bender was by her side. Krissy and Rob met at Waterford Duckpin Bowling and married on 2/11/98. They shared a passion for Bruce Springsteen and never missed a concert tour. Camping in their trailer, kayaking with their dog, Abby, and going to the races were some of their favorite activities. Krissy was a lover of cats and leaves her two cats Remy and Rosie, who will miss her dearly.
She was born in New London on September 1, 1962, the daughter of Robert M. Corcoran and Betty Bindloss Mathis. Krissy was a graduate of New London High School and employed by Bureau of Business Practice, Ocean Beach Park, True Value in East Lyme, and Stop & Shop pharmacy in Waterford. OBP was always a second home for Krissy, from early childhood, to the years she spent working in the gift shop. She could often be found feeding her favorite squirrel, Brownie, peanuts at his handcrafted picnic table. Krissy always paid special attention to her nieces and nephews, and later her grandnieces and nephews. She was known amongst the kids as someone who would always make time to join their tea party or backyard adventure.
