New London – Kirk Thomas Berube, 55, of New London, entered eternal life on Jan. 31, 2018, in the comfort of his loving family. He was born Jan. 19, 1963, the son of Thomas and Helen (Long) Berube, of Delray Beach, Fla.

Kirk was a Waterford resident in his teens and graduated from Groton Technical High School, Class of ’81, with a trade as an auto body technician. He later worked for local auto body shops in the area. He was united in marriage to Mia E. Nocery on Sept. 8, 1990, in St. Francis Chapel in Niantic. Mia survives him.

Kirk was a member of the Laborers’ Union. He was a master mason and owned and operated his own business until his illness.

Kirk enjoyed spending time with many friends and family at his lake house on Amston Lake, where he was an active part of the community. He loved fishing, canoeing, and cooking. He was a lover of all animals, especially his beloved Chocolate Lab, Emma.

Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by four sisters-in-law, Debra, Robin, Cynthia and Pamela; three brothers-in-law, George, Dean and Lance; three nephews, Brendon, Ryan and Mason; four nieces, Erin, Amanda, Sarah and Stephan; along with three great-nieces and two great-nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Lynn Berube Hall.

His family will receive relatives and friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Interment services will be private.
