Karen E. Romano, 64 of Niantic, entered eternal life Sept. 10, 2018 in the comfort of her loving family and devoted husband Michael P. Romano, Jr. after a courageous four year battle with colon cancer. She was born Nov. 20, 1953 in New London the daughter of Henry M. Daniels of Waterford and the late Ellen (Lyon) Daniels. She was united in marriage to Michael P. Romano, Jr. on March 15, 1975. Mrs. Romano had worked at Bridebrook Health Care Center and her last place of employment was at Clark Lane Middle School in the nurses office. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Marc and his wife Amy Romano, Patrick Romano, John Romano, five grandchildren, Olivia and Julia Romano, Brayden Romano, Preston Romano, Kenneth Miller and a brother, Henry E. Daniels of Waterford. Family and friends are asked to gather for a funeral service on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1 pm at the Niantic Community Church, 170 Pennsylvania Avenue, Niantic. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Mausoleum in New London. The Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Avenue, New London has been entrusted with her care.
