OCCHIONERO: Joseph Mark Occhionero, 68 of New London, entered eternal life on March 16, 2023 after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 3, 1955 in New London the son of the late John and Lorraine (Higgins) Occhionero. Joseph was a life long resident of New London, attending local schools and later graduating from St. Bernard High School. He worked at Electric Boat for many years, and later owned and operated his landscaping business. He is survived by two siblings, and there spouses. John N. and Liz Occhionero, of Old Lyme, and Dale and Fred Hoffmann, of Charlestown, RI. A niece, Jackie Lamontagne, two nephews, John J. Occhionero, and Matthew Raynor. He was predeceased by his brother, Jay Occhionero. Family and friends are invited to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday in St. Joseph Church, 149 Montauk Ave., at 11 am. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. There are no public visiting hours, the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London, has been entrusted with his care
