MUSCARELLA: JoAnn P. Muscarella 86 of Waterford entered eternal life on March 11, 2017 in the company of her loving family. She was born Feb. 22, 1931 in New London the daughter of the late Donald and Gladys (Austin) Prince. Mrs. Muscarella graduated form the former Chapman Technical High School class of 1949. She later graduated from the former Joseph Lawrence School of Nursing in 1952. She was united in marriage, to Frank Muscarella on Jan. 5, 1952 in St. Joseph’s Church, Mr. Muscarella survives her. Mrs. Muscarella was a registered nurse at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for 17 years, the late Dr. Mariani medical office for 19 years, and lastly working at Southeastern Medical Associates before retiring. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grand mother. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish and had a strong belief in her Roman Catholic faith. Besides her husband Frank of 65 years of marriage she is survived by two daughter; Susan Franz and husband Gerhard of Quaker Hill, Cathy Bishop of Waterford and Bill Bishop of Groton. Two granddaughters; Megan Bishop, Jennifer and husband Matt Elci. A great-granddaughter, Isabella Rose Elci. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5pm to 7pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave. New London. The funeral will assemble on Friday at 9am and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Joseph Church. Entombment, to follow in St. Mary Cemetery Mausoleum. The family wishes to express their gratitude for her care at Beechwood and Center for Hospice Care.
