DEVLIN: Janice “Jackie” A. Devlin, 85, of Waterford entered eternal life on Feb. 28, 2023 at home in the company of her loving daughter’s and caregiver/friend, Holly Peele. She was born March 4, 1937 in New London, the daughter of the late Stephen W. and Nellie Doucette. Janice grew up in New London attending local schools, graduating from New London High School, class of 1955. She was united in marriage, to Conrad V. Devlin, Jr. on June 11, 1955 in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church. Her beloved husband died on Feb. 1, 2020. Mrs. Devlin worked for several years in the Pfizer health office, and later became secretary for St. Paul Church for many years until her retirement. She was a parishioner, eucharistic minister, president of the ladies guild and member of the parish council of St. Paul Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was kind and loving always putting others before herself. Her greatest joy was spending time with her adoring family. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen Bartelli and companion Michael Kelly, Donna Devlin and fiancé James Moreau; her four grandchildren, Robert Ashton and wife Cabrina Davis, Kaitlyn Way and husband Michael Barbeau, William Bartelli IV and Michael Bartelli; and two great-grandchildren, Talulah Ashton and Emerson Barbeau. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Brooke Bartelli, and three siblings Kathryn Duggan, Rita Staehle and William Doucette. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 3 to 5 pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. The funeral will assemble on Monday at 10 am and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Paul Church, 170 Rope Ferry Rd., Waterford. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
