SANTACROCE: Iride Marie “Edie” Santacroce, 91 of Waterford, entered eternal life on Dec.1, 2015. She was born April 22,1924 in New London the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Mariotto) Busca, Sr. She attended local schools and graduated from the former Williams Memorial Institute. Edie was literally “The Fisherman’s Daughter”, working with her family in there business New London Public Fish Market. She contributed the WW II war effort by processing ammunition at Babcock’s. She was united in marriage to Len “Patsy” Santacroce on May 14, 1944 in New London. Along with her husband they owned and operated “Lens Hotdog Truck”. A successful business, selling grinders, hotdogs at the submarine base and local high schools. Patsy died April 9, 1988. She is survived by her son, Leonard “Len” and his wife Libby Santacroce of Maryland. Her three grandchildren, Jeff Santacroce, Lesa Shively and Julie Burgess. Her five great grandchildren, William, Wyatt, Gino, Griffin, and Sadie. Her brother, Joseph Busca, Jr. of Waterford. Her family will receive relative and friends on Friday from 5 to 7 pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave. New London. A funeral home service will be held.
