Medford, Mass. – Gavin R. Broccoli, 34, of Jewett City, entered eternal life on April 18, 2018. He was born in New London on May 4, 1983, to Michelle (Morth) Broccoli and Henry Broccoli. He grew up in Montville and attended their local schools, and he graduated from Norwich Technical High School in 2002.  He was currently working for GNC Concrete Co. in MA and was a member of the Carpenters Union, Local 326.

Gavin loved the outdoors, especially mountain biking, hunting and spear fishing, and he loved spending time with family and friends. His smile and laughter would light up the room where ever he was. His passion was spending time with his true love, Danielle Daniska, and her daughter, Taylor.  They were the light of his life, and they made many wonderful memories together.

He is survived by his mother, Michelle, of Waterford; his father, Henry, and wife, Jennifer, of Montville; his three siblings, Tricia Silvestri and Jesse Broccoli, both of Groton, and Danielle Broccoli, of Norwich; his maternal grandfather, Lawrence Morth, of Waterford; his paternal grandmother, Anna Secchiaroli-Hobin, of New London; his paternal grandfather, LeRoy Broccoli, and wife, Sandra Grillo-Broccoli, of Mystic. Gavin also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Catherine Santerre-Morth.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, April 27, from 5-7pm, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at 7pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Avenue, New London.  A graveside service will take place on Saturday, April 28, at 10:30am in Jordan Cemetery, Boston Post Road, Waterford. Considering Gavin’s ongoing struggle with addiction, his parents are asking that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to: Community Speaks Out, 214 B. Thames Street, Groton, CT 06340.
