New London – Francis J. Dignan, 97, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 19, 2018.  Born in Boston, son of the late Charles and Carrie (Whitman) Dignan, he lived in New London for many years.  Francis was a 1949 graduate of the Bentley School of Finance and worked as an accountant for Sheffield Tube in New London. He was also a World War II Army veteran.  Francis’s family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Harbor Village Nursing Home and to the Masonicare Hospice team for keeping him comfortable and for going above and beyond with the wonderful care that was given to him.  He leaves his wife of 69 years Josephine (Irlandi) Dignan, two daughters, Patricia Dignan of Brooklyn, NY, Janice Dignan of New London and a granddaughter, Melina Dignan Finck.
