Elizabeth Cook: Norwich — Elizabeth B. “Betty” Cook, 101, of Norwich entered eternal life March 25, 2020. Betty was born October 1918, in Norwich the daughter of the late George R. Smith and Abbie (Sullivan) Smith. ?She attended local schools and graduated from the former Norwich Commercial College. She held many office jobs over the years, Betty was united in marriage to Henry F. Cook in 1945 at The Cathedral of St Patrick. Together in a loving and respectful marriage, they raised their three children. Henry passed away in December 1994. She was a devout Roman Catholic attending daily Mass for decades She also led the family in reciting the Rosary. ?Betty is survived by her three children and their spouses, Richard and Debbie (Ferra) Cook of Niantic, Ann and Salim Isa of Norwich, Catherine and Michael Smith of Michigan; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Ellen and husband George Ring; a brother Charles and wife Rita Smith Sr. ?Her family is very appreciative, of the care their mother received at Norwichtown Rehabilitation and Care Center and to the St. Camillus Society of Sacred Heart Church in Norwichtown. ?There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. Sept. 18, 2021, at St. Peter & Paul Church, 181 Elizabeth Street, Norwich. Interment to follow in St. Mary Cemetery Norwich.
