BISHOP: Elia Ellen Bishop, 89 of Waterford entered eternal life on Nov. 7, 2015. She was born Dec. 31, 1925 in New London the daughter of the late Mario and Zaida (Pezzolesi) Busca. She attended local schools and graduated from the former Williams Memorial Institute class of 1943. She was united in marriage to Wayne Bishop on June 30, 1956 in New London; Mr. Bishop died Sept. 13, 1974. Mrs. Bishop was employed for the State of CT, as a secretary for the State Police, Hartford Troop. After retiring from the State of CT she was employed as an executive secretary for the former Bureau of Business Practice in New London. She enjoyed painting, working with oils and watercolors, studying under Gerry Smith Studio in Waterford. She was a member of the Waterford Senior Citizens and an active volunteer. Mrs. Bishop member of the WMI Alumni Association and their reunion committee. She is survived by her son, John Bishop of Woodbury, CT. A brother, Atty. Morris “Mickey” Busca and his fiancee, Kathy LaCombe of Preston, CT. A sister and brother in-law, Arlene and Jim Dray of Waterford. She was predeceased by a brother, Aurelio Busca. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave. New London. The funeral will assemble on Wednesday at 9 am and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Joseph Church, New London. Committal service will be held on Thursday at 9 am in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New London.
