FIRMIN: Dorothy June Firmin, 90, of Waterford entered eternal life on November 26th, 2021 at home. She was born November 5th, 1931 in New London, the daughter of the late George and Charlotte (Church) Miller.  She attended local schools and graduated from the former Chapman Technical High School. Mrs. Firmin worked at the former YMCA and YWCA as a receptionist, retiring after many years of service. She volunteered at the Garde Arts Theater and Sailfest in New London. She was very outgoing and enjoyed socializing during walks and bicycle rides through her neighborhood as well as with her many friends. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid baker and often gave out her famous coffee cakes as gifts at Christmas – her favorite time of year. She is survived by her four sons; Clayton Firmin, Jr. of Waterford, Gary & Marcia Firmin of Plainville, Todd & Michelle Firmin of Norwich, and Ronald & Donna Firmin of Willington. Five grandchildren; Jennifer, David, Justin, Abigail, Jessica, and three great grandchildren Bennett, Ella and Kayla. She was predeceased by her older sister, Barbara McCarthy. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 am followed by a service at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Interment in Union Cemetery in Quaker Hill.
