COCILO: Dominic Cocilo, 94 of Waterford, entered eternal life on Jan. 5, 2022. He was born March 28, 1927 in New London the son of the late Carl and Nancy (Palazzolo) Cocilo. Mr. Cocilo was an Army veteran of the Koran War, and spent time in Alaska as a machine operator. He married the love of his life, the former Dorothy Racine on Sept. 23, 1950 in Willimantic, Ct., Mrs. Cocilo passed on Oct. 29, 2005. Mr. Cocilo, was employed for the Civil Service working at Navy Housing retiring after many years. He enjoyed life with Dorothy by dancing to Big Band music of the 50’s and 60’s. They also spent 21 winters in Florida, making many friendship during there time. He is survived by two siblings, Louis Cocilo, and Bernadette Ripetti, both of New London. Several nieces and nephews in NC, New London and Dubai. He was predeceased by four siblings, Joe, Benny and Tony Cocilo, and Marie McCollum. His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 am in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 63 Old Norwich Rd. Quaker Hill. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donation in his memory to American Cancer Society PO Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123
