CALEVRO: Dolores (Lois) Calevro, 89 of Oakdale, entered eternal life on Dec. 26, 2021. She was born April 7, 1932 in New London the daughter of the late Angus and Mary (Maddox) McNeil. She was united in marriage to Ralph J. Calevro, on April 28, 1951 in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, her beloved husband predeceased her on June 10, 1995. Dolores volunteered for The American Cancer Society, and was know as the “Summertime Mom” to many of her nieces and nephews. She was an avid bowler until the age of 80 and belonged to many leagues at the Groton Tenpin. She was a member of the Bozrah Senior Citizens and belonged to the Good Sam’s Camping Club. Lois was an avid U-Conn Women’s Basket ball fan, she would always call to chat about “the girls”. She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Lightner and husband Andrew of Salem, and Kathy Calevro of Quaker Hill. Two sisters, Dorothy Tipton of TN, Donna Lebrun of Southington. Four grandchildren, Caitlyn, Andrew, and Austin Lightner and Olesia Pounch. She was predeceased by two sons, Ralph and Michael Calevro. Eight siblings, Thomas, Joseph and Jim McNeil, Patricia Elliott, Elsie Annette, Elenor Gray, Catherine Andrews and Denise Ferriera. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. A funeral home service will be held on Friday, at 9 am, followed by interment in St. Mary Cemetery, New London.
