David E. VanDyne

David E. VanDyne, age 67 of New London, CT passed away late at night, this past Monday November 4, 2019 of a heart attack.  David was born on January 17, 1952 in New London, CT to Albert William VanDyne, Sr. and Ruth Arlene (Diaz) VanDyne.  David was raised in Groton, CT where he attended elementary and junior high school, he then went to St. Bernard High School in Uncasville, CT graduating in 1970.  David was employed at the following over the years:  Youth Colony and Tommy’s Florist in Groton, CT,  Frank’s Place, Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, and last but not least A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts, all in New London, CT .  David really enjoyed Bowling, Cake Decorating and Floral Arranging, and just helping out his friends with whatever they needed, he also loved to travel.  David was preceded in death by both his parents, and his only brother, Albert William “Billy” VanDyne, Jr.  He is survived by his long time friends/housemates of many years, Robert “Bob” Briggs and John J. Duval of New London, CT .  His Sister-In-Law, Susie Frankopoulos VanDyne of Groton, CT .  Nephews, Chris VanDyne and Danny VanDyne of Groton, CT .  Great Niece, Marrisa VanDyne  and   Great Nephew, Vincent VanDyne,  both of Groton, CT.  And his very special friend of over 35 years, Maggie Searles of  Quaker Hill, CT.   Services for David will be held at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Avenue, New London, CT.  Calling Hours will be Sunday November 10, 2019  from  4:00 pm  until  7:00 pm.  Funeral service will be Monday November 11, 2019 at  11:00 am .  Interment will follow in Colonel Ledyard Cemetery  in  Groton, CT .  Reception will be at  Groton Inn and Suites.  Donation’s in David’s memory may be made to   Alliance For Living, 154 Broad Street,  New London, CT  06320
