VENTURO: Cynthia V. Venturo, of Mechanicsville, VA and formerly of New London, entered eternal life on Sept. 26, 2022. She was born Feb. 25, 1945 in New London the daughter of the late George and Shirley (Rhoades) Johns. She was united in marriage, on May 29, 1982 to her beloved husband Barry. She is survived by her sister, Sandra Heimberg, her brother, Michael Johns (Elizabeth), her children, Amber Hany, Danielle Venturo and Heather Venturo (Christopher Norton), her grandchildren, Isabelle Hany, Chloe Hany, and Camden Grey Venturo-Norton, and her nephew Erik Nelson (Jennifer). She was raised in New London, and often spoke fondly about her roots, swimming in the cold waters at Ocean Beach and assisting her grandparents at their local restaurant. Better known as Cindy to most and “my bride” to her husband, her most important roles were found later in life as mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Yai Yai”. All funeral services are private, the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave. New London has been entrusted with her care.
