KANE: Constance Elaine (Wasgatt) Kane, 83 of Oakdale, earned her wings on Nov. 23, 2016 in her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Constance, known to her family as Gigi, was born Sept. 6, 1933 in Bangor, Me the daughter of the late Harry and Ila Wasgatt. She attended local schools in Bangor Me and was valedictorian of her high school class. She married the love of her life Forrest E. Kane, Sr. on Jan. 23, 1955. Mr. Kane died in 2008. Constance was an incredible lady who always spoke her mind. She devoted her life to caring and loving her family. Her grandchildren put the twinkle in her eye. She loved cooking, doing crossword puzzles and bingo. An amazing lady that will be forever, missed and loved. We are truly blessed to have her as our mom and Gigi. We will never say goodbye to someone we loved so much and who loved us so completely. Forrest and Constance raised seven children. Forrest E. Kane, Jr. and wife Reanna of NE, Danny L. and wife Christine of Lisbon, Bruce W. Kane of FL, Kathryn Macomber of ME, Brenda Keegan and husband Tim of Canterbury, Roni Bookman and husband Tom of Oakdale. She was the beloved grandmother of nineteen, thirty- two great grand children and four great- great grandchildren. During her illness she was cared for by two grand daughters, Misty Schultz, RaeLynn Mclean and great grand daughters, Amaya Schultz, Kerstin McLean great grandson Kendrick Schultz. She is survived by two siblings, Mary Ellen Carter and Kenneth Griffin both of ME. As well of numerous nieces and nephews, all which will miss her always. She was predeceased by a daughter, Julie Kane, four siblings and a granddaughter, Marlo Kane. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 6 pm to 8 pm with words of remembrance at 7 pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave. New London. Interment services will be private.
