WILLIAMS: Clifford Ervin “Chill” Williams, 55 of Ledyard, entered eternal life on Dec. 4, 2015. He was born Aug. 3, 1960 in Lenoir, NC the son of Esther (Koonce) Bradley of Trenton, NC and Dalton Kornegay and his wife Catherine of Dorchester, MA. Mr. Williams attended local schools in Trenton, NC and after graduating high school he enlisted in the US Navy. After being honorably discharged from the Groton Naval Base he resided Groton before moving to Ledyard. He was united in marriage to the former Karen Brown on July 15, 2005 in Norwich. Mrs. Williams survives him. Mr. Williams was employed at the former Wyman Gordon Co in Groton as a shipping manager for 25 years, and then employed at Pfizer Co in Groton. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, New York Yankee’s, North Carolina Tar Heel’s and LA Lakers. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in New London. Besides his beloved wife Karen and parents, two children survive him. Clifford E. Williams, Jr. of New London, Carlvina Williams of Norwich. A stepson, Denzel Hodges of Ledyard. His three grandchildren, Omari, Layla and Cataleya. Six siblings, Robert Williams of Knightdale, NC, Thaddeus Williams of Richlands, NC, Carolyn Koonce (Charlie) of Trenton, NC, Frank Kornegay of Boston, MA, Violet Covington (James) of Durham, NC and Ada Valese (John) of Knightdale, NC. His mother in-law, Chris Sebastian of New London. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Esther Mae Koonce and William Wright Koonce. His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday morning from 9 to 11 am at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave. New London. Followed by a funeral home service at 11 am conducted by Rev. Bishop Watts. Interment to follow in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic with military honors. Donations in his memory to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 300 Research Parkway Suite 310 Meriden, CT 06450.
