MERCURI: Caterina Mercuri, 84 of New London entered eternal life on May 26, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Francesco “Frank” Mercuri who survives her. She was born March 12, 1939 in Sabiase, Italy, the daughter of the late Antonio and Teresa (Creco) Sinopoli. Coming to the US in 1966 to Pittsburg, PA, they later settled in New London. Mrs. Mercuri worked in house keeping for Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for many years. Besides her husband she is survived by her children; Pete (Patty Korineck) Mercuri, Franca (Josh Diekmann) Mercuri, Raffaella Mercuri, and Michael (Meghan) Mercuri. Her sister, Rosa Orlando, and four grandchildren Dante, Rocco, Carmine and Guy. She had many nieces and nephews who she adored. She was predeceased by her son Anthony Mercuri, a son in-law Johnnie Reay and her four siblings. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5 to 7 pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. The funeral will assemble on Friday at 9 am and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial, at 10 am in St. Joseph Church, follow by entombment in St. Mary Cemetery Mausoleum.
