Obituaries

Carolyn Duford Muscarella, 81 of Quaker Hill passed away peacefully on December 19^th 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in New London, on November 28^th 1939, the daughter of the late Ernest A. Duford and Gladys Sokolowski Duford.

Carolyn was united in marriage to Charles R. Muscarella Jr. on November 27^th 1958. Mr. Muscarella survives her.

Carolyn, also known as “Pookie” was an avid dog enthusiast and groomed and showed Yorkshire Terriers for many years. She was also a ‘horseshow Mom’ supporting her children at every horse show event.

Carolyn is survived by her son, C. Randall Muscarella of Quaker Hill. Her daughter Denise R. Chapman and her husband Donald of Oakdale.   Her grandchildren and their spouses, Jeremy and Jessica Patterson Chapman of Oakdale, and Justine Chapman and Jorge Lebron of New London. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, Jayvon Chapman, Kayden Lebron and Jade Chapman. She is also survived by her siblings, Evelyn A. Schultz of Salem, Gary E. Duford of Portland Maine, and Brian A. Duford of Waterford. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at a later date.  Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of South Eastern Connecticut or the Connecticut Humane Society
