Carla Anna Maria Doucette, 70, of Waterford, CT died the morning of November 10 due to complications from her two-decade battle with multiple sclerosis.

 

Born June 27, 1952 in Schenectady, NY, Carla was the youngest of four children born to the late Carmel and Cettina (Lamparelli) Costanza.  Her adoring parents later moved to Mystic, CT where they raised a close-knit family.

 

Soon after graduating from Fitch Senior High School in 1970, Carla went to work at Supervisor of Shipbuilding Conversion & Repair for the DOD, U.S. Navy in Groton, CT. Her career blossomed from mailroom clerk to a G12 Administrative Officer. There, she also met and fell in love with Alex W. Doucette and they were married on December 27, 1975.

 

Carla’s infectious smile and laughter would ignite any room. Her patience, humility, selflessness and strength was undeniable.  Her love and devotion to her family was unquestionable.

 

She is survived by her loving husband, Alex W. Doucette of Waterford; her daughters Stephanie Doucette of NY and Crissy Doucette of Waterford; son-in-law, Mark Robohm of NY; three grandchildren, Wilson Carmel Robohm, Maxwell Peter Robohmand Charlie Anna Maria Robohm of NY; siblings and in-lawsMaryanne and Joe Desimone of Virginia Beach, VA; Salvatore and Linda Costanza of North Stonington, CT; Angela and Rick O’Bey of Venice, FL; in addition to several nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved.

 

She will be with us always and forever in our hearts.

 

Her family will receive relatives and friends on
Tuesday, November 15 from 5-7 p.m. from the
Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home

The funeral will assemble on

Wednesday, November 16 at 10 am and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
