Beatrice Bea Coffey

COFFEY: Beatrice “Bea” Coffey, 97, of Quaker Hill, entered eternal life on Feb. 11, 2016. She was born on July 8, 1918 in New Bedford, MA one of nine children of the late Hypolite and Albertine (Pelland) Madec. She was united in marriage, to Edmund “Eddie” Coffey, 1942 in Sacred Heart Church, Groton. Edmund died March 29, 1983. Bea worked at Sears in New London for 32 years and was known as, “The Fashion Lady” retiring in 1981. Bea and Eddie enjoyed traveling after their retirement. She is survived by a sister, Lillian Leary of Waterbury. Many nieces and nephews and a special; niece and nephews , Ginny Leary, Ricky White and Paul Bernier. Neighbor, Al Jantzen. She was predeceased by siblings, Julian, Mary, Ernest, Leo, Hypolite, Janet , Germaine and her companion, Howard Marston. The family would like to thank Bayview Health Care Center for there outstanding care they provided Bea over the last eight years. The Funeral will assemble on Tuesday at 9 am from the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave. New London. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. John the Evangelist Church, 22 Maple Ave. Uncasville. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery.
