MCKAY: Anne Elizabeth McKay, 84 of Waterford CT and formerly of Niantic CT, entered eternal life on November 20, 2016 at her home in the company of her loving family.

Born September 3, 1932 in Chicopee, MA the daughter of the late Max and Margaret (Ferguson) Schorr. A sister, Ruth Schorr-Dinsmore, predeceased her.

Anne was united in marriage to the love of her life, John McKay on May 15, 1954 at Faith United Methodist Church in Fairview, MA. Mr. McKay died August 5, 1998.

She worked for many years at Brodeur Printing Co. in Old Saybrook, several years at the Hallmark Store in Niantic and was a long time member of the Niantic Community Church.

Always a good listener, Anne was a kind and gentle soul who was adored by everyone who knew her. Her greatest joy was her family whom she loved dearly. She was also an avid reader and loved the beach.

Anne is survived by two children and their spouses: John and Cathy McKay of Amherst NH, Linda and Jay Hadfield of Waterford CT, with whom Anne resided with for the past 10 years. Five grandchildren, John Christopher McKay (his wife Courtney), Kelsey Day (her husband Rourke), Brittany, Mitchell and Christine Hadfield; and a great grandson, Jackson Day, who all brought her great joy.

The family would like to thank all of the nurses, aides and others at the Center for Hospice Care for their genuine care and support.

Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday December 2, 2016 from 10:30am to 12:00pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave. New London. Funeral service will follow at 12:00pm and proceed to interment in Union Cemetery, Niantic.
