Waterford – Anna “Ann” Mercuri Carfi Deligeorges, 94, wife of Basil Deligeorges of Waterford, passed away June 9, 2021, at Beechwood Rehab in New London. She was born May 12, 1927, in New Haven, the daughter of the late Louis and Santina ( Pasqualini) Mercuri.

Ann attended local schools and graduated from the former Williams Memorial Institute, Class of 1945. She worked at the Naval Submarine Base and retired from the Underwater Systems Center in New London. Ann had been a longtime member of Shennecossett Golf Course and Black Hall Golf Club. She was a lifetime member of L & M Ladies Auxiliary and Friends of Fort Trumbull. Besides golf, she enjoyed needlework, baking and especially enjoyed going to various sporting events of her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Ann leaves a daughter, Lynn Tsagarakis and husband Zack of Stonington; and a son, John Carfi and wife April of Waterford. She also leaves four grandchildren, JC Tsagarakis, Jordan (Mel) Ransom, Mia and Julia Carfi; and a great-grandchild, Brooks Ransom. She was predeceased by her sister Teresa Walsh; brother Louis Mercuri Jr.; and former husband Sal Carfi; and her beloved grand-goldens, Brooke, Cassie and Molly.
