CRISTOFARO: Angelo Rafaele Cristofaro, 88 of Waterford, entered eternal life on Feb. 15, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 14, 1934 in Lapio, Province of Avellino, Italy the son of the late Anthony and Nicolina (Iovina) Cristofaro. Angelo married his loving wife Giovanna DiIorio, on Feb. 18, 1959 in Italy, where they then moved to the USHe worked for the City of New London in the Water Dept., retiring after 34 years. He owned and operated the former Hartlings Spirits Shop on Montauk Ave. in New London. Angelo was gifted gardener growing vegetables and his famous grape vines, which he made his homemade wine for family and friends. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. Besides his beloved wife Giovanna of nearly 64 years, he is survived by two daughters, Nicolina Cristofaro of Uncasville, Maria and husband Ed Lorah of East Lyme. Six loving grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alessandra, Ryan, Eddie, Andrew, Austin and two great grandchildren, Gianna and Nicholas. A sister, Lucy Pezzello of New London. He was predeceased by a son Antonio “Tony” Cristofaro, and four siblings, Pasquale, Vito and Nichol Cristofaro, and Maria Morelli.   His family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 5 to 7 pm at the Impellitteri-Malia funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Family and friends are to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11 am in St. Joseph Church, 149 Montauk Ave., New London. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
