Alan James Berger, 65 of Lisbon entered eternal life on April 2, 2017. He was born Oct. 12, 1951 in Meridan, CT, the son of James Berger and the late Dorothy (Athorne) Berger. Al grew up in Meridan, graduating from Xavier High School and later attended Fairfield University. He worked for DDS as a program supervisor for 30 years until retirement. His life long love of music brought joy to countless others. He was a gifted musician and singer. Uncle Al “the D.J. of “Uncle Al’s Sound” touched many lives. Even after retirement from the state of CT, Al continued to D.J. dances for the people he supported and loved. A skilled craftsman, Al and his wife “Jules” displayed their creations in their store,” Cantebury Woodworks “. Al was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, kayaking, and especially his daily hikes with his dog, Bianca Marie. Al was a gifted joker and storyteller. He never failed to entertain us with his outrageous sense of humor. Above all Al loved his wife and family. He is survived by his beloved wife Julie (Preston) Berger, two daughters Chelsea and Katey and son, Evan. His father James Berger, and sisters, Allison, Geri, Betty, and Gail. Three grandchildren Gianna, Nick, Isabelle, and countless nieces, nephew’s, and cousins. Funeral services are private. A celebration of Al’s life will be held on (Sunday) June 4, 2017 from 3 pm to 7 pm at The French Club, 116 Club Rd., North Windham, CT 06256, Willimantic, CT. The Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home 84 Montauk Ave., has been entrusted with his care.
