Adele Bado DeBiasi, 93 of Waterford and Port Charlotte, Florida, beloved wife of the late Carl DeBiasi passed away in Florida on Monday, September 19, 2022.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Adele was a graduate of Homestead High School, then went on to complete her education as a registered nurse. She received her R.N. diploma in September 1948 and shortly thereafter travelled to New London to take a temporary position at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. She fell in love with the area and met her future husband, Carl DeBiasi during her stay in New London.

Her passion for helping others was met through her employment at L & M Hospital and later at medical offices and nursing homes. During her retirement she continued to provide compassionate care by volunteering to drive cancer patients to treatment and later as a hospice volunteer supporting patients and their families.

One of her greatest joys in life was spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed travel, gardening, cooking and entertaining, reading, boating and the beach. She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Church of New London and found great comfort in her faith.

Adele will be remembered for being a kind and selfless person, always reaching out to friends and family when there was a need. She is survived by her children, Mark DeBiasi of Groton Long Point and his wife Jessica, Janice Ginsberg of East Lyme and her husband, Jay, her granddaughter, Jennifer DiDonato of Clinton and her husband, Michael, along with their children, Johnathan and Ava Adele, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on November 3 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church at 37 Squire Street, New London.
